Not the lowest common denominator!
Not sure how I missed this one until now. It is a perfect parody. Excellent humor and style.
It has me thinking though... IA-Clock and Tricky... in full 3D! Hmmmmm....

It was good
But maybe if you didn't bitch about the score, people might rate it slightly higher? I don't know, but I think a lot of people tire from the threat of not making movies if current ones are not voted high. Making movies for the sole purpose of getting a high rating defeats the purpose of making movies (much like choosing a job/career/lifestyle for the sole purpose that it pays well defeats the purpose of living ;) ).
In any case, this was good, but in my opinion, not awesome. Maybe it was my mood, but it lacked the originality and humor of other MK movies I have viewed. If you wanted a 'punchline' to go the humor route, the whole multi-ending part ruined any change of that happening.
This movie simply tries too hard to be funny, original, advanced, that it fails in every respect (much like George Lucas' career after 'American Graffiti :D ).
Anyway, keep them coming and forget about the ratings. Ratings are as easy as clicking '0' or '5', much like many reviews are as easy as typing 'GAY' or 'AWESOME!' and scrolling for some numbers to score (be thankful I took the time to analyze this movie and write this review rather than doing any of the above mentioned ;) ). Your best work will come when you stop caring what other people will think... when it becomes 'original'.
Better than Star Wars!
Ok, it doesn't take much to beat Lucas on this one. This sums up the movie pretty well without having to fast forward through a bootlegged copy of that crap (I still would not pay a dime to see Ep. II). Also, unlike Lucas, I can tell you actually put some effort in the story. I laughed so hard at the 'sandy' scene. :D
I love this one!
Excellent style and originality. The abstract look blends very well with the characters and story. Too bad those little guys don't exist in real life.... or do they? ;)
Nice
I think I will just link to this whenever I need to 'respond' to the usual mindless emails and reviews. :-)
Excellent theme
I hate jazz. It is all warm and wet and it sticks to my feet. One time, back in 'Nam, I had a jazz infection to my feet. The doctors were about to amputate my legs, but, thankfully, they were showing the latest release of 'Titanic' at the local theatre. Man, between the special effects and grand acting ability of that Di'Craprio guy, the infection starved to death and I was cured! Any movies that have meaning, symbolism, irony or satirical value should be banned. I want to see movies with nothing but car chase scenes, blood, and those cheesy, meaningless sex scenes. After all, this is a consumer nation. I didn't go through the public school system to learn, I went through the system to look, act and think like everyone else and, above all, to consume! Who cares if slavery existed? Who cares about the civil rights movement? As long as I can close my eyes to injustice, still make a stable salary, keep a steady debt in house loans, car loans and the latest Palm Pilot and cellular technology and still get drunk every weekend watching football and fulfilling my deepest, secret homoerotic psychological tendencies and getting laid every night, bringing more cookie-cutter clones into this world, I will be perfectly content.
All satire aside, yes I enjoyed this animation. Having studied African-American history from slavery to past the civil rights movement, I found that it fits quite nicely in giving a subtle peek at the underlying history of this nation. For anyone to scoff this as being just some 'turd' movie is almost an insult. So, here I bring you a very, very, very brief lesson in American history. Native Americans moved to this hemisphere some 5,000+ years ago. About 500 years ago, the people from Europe sailed here. They took the land from the natives in exchange for raping and murdering them. The people from Europe had also been in Africa, and they had nicely taken their land and offered Africa's people free cruises to the Americas in exchange for raping and murdering them. The people from Africa who had been brought to the Americas, began the development of this country 'tis of thee. The new owners of the Americas thanked the builders and servants by raping and murdering them. As time passed, it became apparent that the people who originally were brought from Africa did not enjoy working for free all their lives, even though their ancestors had so graciously been given free cruises across the Atlantic. So, they said something about 'separate but equal', made drinking fountains that had labels on them based on color and anyone drank from the incorrect fountain was raped and murdered. Well, about 40 years ago, things started to get heated, a few people sat around at the incorrect color-coded restaurant table, lots of people were raped and murdered and the 'separate' part went away. Now we have affirmative action and racial profiling.
And, of course, we also have a majority of cry babies who can not stand to see a two minute animation unless it has rape and murder in it..... and this is the future generation. Sad.
Lame
This movie is so lame. You can see the punchline coming a mile away.
Brings back old memories...
I remember skipping class and playing this along with Silk Worm and Shinobi at the local 7-Eleven way back in '89. Playing those ROMs today, it is amazing how great the graphics seemed back then and how much they suck today.
The only thing about this movie is that I don't quite remember this scene. Oh well, rusty memory. ;-)
Thanks, I needed that :-)
I have not had a good hard laugh in quite a while. Seeing someone turn their skin and flesh into projectiles did the trick, though. I'm just a sick monkey.
The music loop is the only thing I'd change (kind of nerve-wrecking).
